I am new to this group. I have been reading and looking for awhile but never posted. I am not very skilled but have "fooled with wood" most of my life. I hope in time I have something to say, but will keep reading for the time.

Welcome to the group. All of us here just fool with wood... although there are a couple of folks in this group that do some pretty impressive fooling. Feel free to join in any of the posts or discussions with either question or comment. I'm sure you'll find this a great place.
Welcome to the site. I too recently retired and just started to "fool with wood". These guys and gals turn out some pretty spectacular work, here in NC. You will find everyone to be very courteous and always willing to share their own thoughts and experiences when it comes to making sawdust.
Hello Sid and welcome from the coast. Yep, that's me, "fool with wood". This is a great site with lots of skilled woodworkers willing to help with advice and tp talk things out. Once again, welcome!
Welcome. Don't worry about your skills. Find some plans for something you'd like to make and go for it. A little research and some trial and error and before long other people will ask you for help. Good luck!
Welcome
Dont worry about your skill's.
Some of the people here are very skilled, some are pro.
Others like myself have very little skill:lol:
But everyone is helpfull:eusa_clap
Hey Sid!
Welcome to the site! :icon_thum Jump on into the discussions! If you are working on a project and need some help, just ask! There are plenty of people here who will be willing to offer advice on how to work out any problems you may come across. And they don't bite!
Wood keeps making a fool out of me, but I consider that part of the challenge. I'm not sure how much I've progressed in the last year, but the folks here have kindly provided volumes of great info.
Hope you enjoy the site as much as I have

Here I thought my purpose was to make saw dust (and I have really improved on that this year  )- but the "fooling around with wood" is as accurate a description as any. Glad you joined us. Remember, we LOVE pictures!
Hey, I strongly encourage you to jump right in, I mean heck, when DaveO mentions what he prefers in the shop (http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/reviews/2742-leather.apron.html). It just makes it all the more fun to be a member. I wouldn't be conserned with all the technical goorp, heck I don't think anyone understands it all anyways. We're just here to have fun and help each other out when we can.
