We Have just joined this site. We have been in NC for a little over a year now. We are both from VT. I am David and My wife's name is Judy. We are trying to set up a custom woodworking business called BBF( Better Built Furniture). We want to give an option to people to have furniture that is built the old fashion way. Like all the nice projects that you all have built. we know we won't get rich because it takes to long to make unlike press board with sheets glued to it. So if anyone out there has any advice or tips for us please tell us. we can use all the help we can get.(LOL). I see from this site that I will be able to have a lot of expert advice and tips from you all. Thanks for the site and hope to get to know you in the future

Welcome to the site David and Judy. And best of luck on your new venture. You are ambitious, but we wish you well. What kind of furniture do you plan to build? We have several woodworkers on the site who make superb furniture, built-in cabinets, custom cabinets and turned bowls, toys and more, so there is plenty of help at your fingertips. Be sure to request a Photo Gallery (you'll find the Request Gallery under the Other Links on the main menu bar) so you can show others your shop or projects. There is a saying around here "no pics, it didn't happen", so join the others and share!

Be seeing you around the forums.

Welcome to the group. We have a nice mix of new woodworkers through pro's here and everyone like to help. Tell us more about your business plans, how you plan to set up shop and ask away. Someone here is bound to know the answer or at least make something up that sounds reasonable.

Welcome to the site!!

One resource that I've come across as I'm sure many others here have as well is WoodWeb (http://www.woodweb.com/).

There Business and Management Forum, and their forums in general, have a great deal of good information.

Welcome, Dave and Judy! If you haven't been warned yet, watch out for Woodguy Disease. If you search the forums for it, I'm sure it will provide hours of entertaining reading.
Best of luck in your business endeavour-I think that many of us here are envious, but lack the intestinal fortitude to actually do it! Me, I'd stave to death
I think that you'll find this a great community where everyone has the right attitude.
Welcome!
