I saw this at Sams on my last trip and thought real hard about tossing one in the cart for my basement shop. Figured I'd better ask around here to see if it really was a deal or not.... Might work pretty well for my purposes as I've got a basement shop that, while unheated, holds temps pretty well (even on the coldest days I've not seen it below 55). Thought one of these mounted in the area where I do assembly/finishing might work well to take the edge off while things are drying.... Thoughts?

UPDATE: Did a bit of googling and found it going for $100-$150 on other sites.... so $50 does seem to be a deal.....

Thanks,

Travis

For 1200 watts, 50 bucks seems a bit steep to me. I picked up a 4000 watt heater from Northern Tool the other day on sale for 70. Its a 220 volt version, but if you have 220, it put out some good heat at a good price.

I have two of these, but they are in our camper (in storage) so I can't verify the wattage, but am pretty sure they are 1500 watts and have a 750 watt setting also. I believe the box only had the amp rating but 12 amps times 125 volts = 1500 watts. These are less than $20. I bought two last spring for $8 on clearance.

It's a different type of heater than the one you're looking at, but a watt is a watt when it comes to electric heating. Hope this helps.
