Have a finishing question

I am in the long and slow process of finishing my "man cave". I have been working on the trim and molding, and it is, for the most part, stained. I have been spraying Target Coatings Emtech EM6000 Water Based Lacquer with good results.

My question is, on the door threshold, I don't think the lacquer is meant to withstand the constant walking back and forth. I already have 4-5 coats on there. What do you guys recommend to go on top of this for better durability? I really want to avoid having to take it all off if possible.

The piece is 7" x 36", small enough that it makes having to order something online, or buying a gallon of finish less than ideal. Anything out there local, that is maybe sold by the pint or quart?

Gonzalo, if it were me I would consider Bona Traffic.

It's one of the most durable finishes available, waterborne and non-yellowing.

Check with Bona to see if applying it over lacquer would be a problem (I don't think so).

I forgot to mention that the only piece I need to worry about is 6" x 36". Not really cost effective to buy 5 liters of product.

After talking with Jeff from Target Coatings, going with a few coats of water based poly. Thank you Scott for your help.
