Hardwood source

Hi, I am new to the forum and Eastern NC. I have just moved to New Bern and can't find a source of furniture grade hardwood that sells retail. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks, joe

Joe, under the "Woodworking in NC" link above, there is a list of wood suppliers. Also, just recently on the list there was a thread about this topic, but it seems to have disappeared I get nearly all my hardwood from the NC Hardwood Store in Gibsonville, which is about 20 miles east of Greensboro. That is going to be about 3 hours from NB, but if you have a way of transporting the wood, an occasional jaunt to Gibsonville would be worth your while. I am told that there is a lumber store in Beaufort that stocks marine plywood; perhaps they also have hardwoods. I have not yet had the chance to go there and check it out...

I am just past Louisburg and I carry all furniture grade hardwoods.

Try Atlantic Veneer in Beaufort. Should be only 40 minutes from you.
