I’ve been offering one-on-one classes in my home shop. Have done several sharpening classes with great success. This week we had a different class. Brand new wood worker wanted to learn to make a bowl. Used carbide tools from jaustin member here. She learned a lot about how trees become lumber, types and properties of different woods, tools, sharpening traditional turning tools(even though we didn’t use them this time). She is already a ceramics artist so a good understanding of design and forms is transferrable to turning. Finally she made a nice small bowl for her first project and scheduled her next class.
