I am not sure of the exact date the site was started, but based on Steve Coles join date it was the 10th of July. So this post might be a little late, but I thought everyone would find it interesting to know that we are a year old now and still growing strong. Well, I haven't been here very long but I certainly have gotten a lot out of this place. I'd like to say thanks to Steve, all the adminsitrators, and especially to all the woodworkers who share their time, expertise, and photos of their work. This is the stuff that enables the rest of us. Thank you.

Haven't been a member nearly that long, but I must say that I have learned a tremendous amount from all the members and continue to reap a ton of enjoyment from reading everyone's posts nearly every day! Thanks a bunch to all of the members!

And Steve! Don't know how you can manage to do such a superb job of maintaining such a great site! Thanks again for all of the hours you spend keeping this site up and running!

Steve's first post on Woodnet stating that NCWW website was up and running was July 11th and I joined on the 12th. FYI, here's the original Woodnet thread.

And you might note that Steve was a master of diplomacy then too :icon_thum

The real reason that Tom was so early was I went into the store discussed with Tom the purchase of something expensive and then asked him to sign up while I was still in the store "so I could be sure everything went all right":lol:

I knew that was going to come up when I saw that old Woodnet thread come up :roll: I never said it wasn't a good idea, I just thought that the nitch had already been filled. And who knew that it would turn out to be such a welcoming site to be a member of.

Thanks Sapwood for posting the link from WoodNet - that was thoroughly entertaining.

I'm new to the site and like what the others said - I certainly enjoy reading the posts as well as getting solid information when I do have a question to ask. I have also been able to meet one of our members (Dave O) who was very helpful in answering my questions and even take time to give me some hands on instruction with one of the projects I was working on. It's a great site and many thanks to Steve for all his work.
