If we have enough interest in a workshop we will choose a time and place.

I said I wouldn't do this this year but there seems to be a need.

$30 donation to NCWW and lunch will be provided.

Similar workshops cost from $75 to $125 and are usually limited to one plane and/or one chisel.

Many here can attest to the quality of our workshops.

Re: Handplane and general sharpening workshop

I have been to multiple hand plane workshops taught by Mike. They are really good and definitely worth more than $30. If there are open slots as the event approaches, I would take one. I will hold off on signing up to give others the opportunity first though as I have already attended two of these workshops in the past.

Here is the current sign up sheet (I will update this post as things change):

If the timing is right, I will attend. I have a junk plane (recently made) I think will work for learning with. Count me and I will decide after the date is announced.

New(ish) member, pretty comfortable with power tools, but planes still defeat me. Would love to come to this workshop, let me know when and where and if available will be there!

Early to mid-March might work better. Last time we tried a February workshop we had the ice storm and had to cancel. Also, I've got a huge project underway that should be out of the shop by late February.

Do I count as NEW anymore? Out of curiosity what type of planes are you needing to be sharpened? I have a 4 but could use a larger plane! ;-)

BTW - the last one you helped me sharpen is still amazing.

Scott, I think some newer members have signed up. I have 4 and 5 size planes. I think you need a 7 or 8.

You should come see my shop improvements...

Fair enough... I guess I am "seasoned" now. LOL

And you are right, I believe we discussed 7 or 8. ANd I would love to come by and check your shop out. PM when you have times that work for you.
