Hi,
Find this website while tryng to find some info on a rotary tool that I got that didn't come with a handbook. I lost some tree in the hurricane one of which is a chainball(?) tree. I thought I would try and do something with some on the wood. Napkin ring holders or something like that. Thanks for reading.

Hi Marion and welcome to the forum.:)

If you would provide additional info (name, model, etc) on the tool you purchased, someone could probably help you find a manual. Quite often, tool manufacturers provide PDF files of manuals for their stuff.

Welcome to the site, Marion. You've found a great site that has many talented men and women woodworkers that enjoy sharing information and experiences. I'm not sure what brand of rotary tool you received, but if it is a Dremel Tool, you can download Owner's Manuals for most models at http://www.dremel.com/HTML/home_fr.html. If it is another brand, just let us know and we'll see if one can be located. As for your downed tree, I'm afraid you've got me -- unless it is the very common sweet gum tree that has 1 to 1-1/2 inch spherical seed pods that hang all over it... The wood isn't even good for burning!

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome. The tool I have is a craftsman variable speed rotary. I found it in my dad's house after his death. It doesn't look that old and I don't think he use it at all. It has some bits and bobs things in the case with it I think some is a grinder/sander bit and someother things that look like a flywheel. I tried the craftmans website and Sears but can't seem to fine the model number or any handbook downloads. Any help will be nice.

Hey Echo, welcome to the site, glad you found us. Perhaps you can post a picture of your tool, that could help.

Marion, welcome to the site. We are glad you found us, and hopefully one of us will be able to help you locate a manual for that rotary tool. Can you find a model number on it anywhere? That would help us a bunch in our search.

Hi,
Sorry no chance for a phote. The model number is 572610950. I gotton alot of info and now know how to proceed with the tool. The first thing is working on a mailbox sign with my name and address either woodburn into it or use the rotary to crave it out. Thanks for all the help.

Nice to hear from you. A chainball (assume sweetgum) tree and rotozip. I am intrigued.

The sweetgum trees make golf ball sized (average) porous seed pods that have something like dull thorns on them. If it is sweetgum, good luck.:eusa_booh

Marion,
If you go to this link http://www3.sears.com/ and type in your model number 572610950 and hit "GO" it will take you to a parts page for your rotary tool. Toward the bottom of the list in an entry for the Owner's Manual for that particular model.
