Just finished up this TV stand for my granddaughter. Case is maple ply with a solid maple base and edging. Top is also maple ply with walnut edging. The star of the pic is my 4 yo granddaughter Anissa.

Striking work John! I really like the design and the contrasting woods and the glass doors and, of course, the granddaughter :icon_thum

John,

Just plain beautiful !!

The TV cabinet is pretty too! :) :)

Good job!

Thank you for sharing.

How did you attach the walnut to the maple ply?
Simple butt joint & glue?

Thanks Joe,
Yes, basically although the walnut does sit on top of the case. So it is glued both to the case and to the top. I figured I could get away with it as the both the case and top are ply.

Excellent, beautiful TV stand, and beautiful grand-daughter. I am sure a smile like that is worth more than you could ever consider selling the piece for.

Nicely done! Just curious -- how much did you have to pay the great model? She's dynamite! Isn't being a Grandparent the best?!!

Dave,
Thanks and you are correct - Nothing like that smile, makes the piece priceless !!

Rob,
Thanks, All I had to do was ask for a smile and she comes up with the best poses. Really easy to work with. There is nothing like being a Grandparent :)

Great work! The contrast really adds something to the already great craftsmanship. The granddaughter is as cute as they come too. You should be proud of both.
