I have a standard, no bells or whistles circular saw (7 1/4") that I need to use to cross-cut what will become the top of my 61" wide dresser. Any recommendations for a good cross-cut blade that won't give any tear out (the top is 3/4" walnut)?

Thanks

The Freud Diablo D0760 wood be a good blade at a decent price.
The Freud LU79R007 would be top the line.

I have the 40T version and it produces very good cuts, even in plywood. I would imagine the 60T blade leaves an even finer finish. A safety measure is to cut it 1/8" oversized and then use a straightedge and router (w/ straight bit) to finish it. That would take care of any tearout.

You could cut on a scrap backer board and attach a 1/4" plywood zero clearance baseplate on your saw to limit any tearout.
