Based on the color/translucency, the application, and your difficulty to bond to it, my money is on polypropylene. If that's the case, you'll have to get a little tricky to bond to it. You'll need to use Loctite 401 (or comparable CA) along with Loctite 770 Prism primer. The 401 by itself will not adhere (though it looks like you may be able to roughen the surface and get it to work by itself). You need to paint on the primer and then glue. I would not put the primer on the 3D printed part, just the PP part (since you haven't had trouble bonding to the 3D printed part so far).

It seems that E6000 holds the two pieces together well enough. I'll test a few more, but so far, so good. It doesn't have to be a really durable bond. Thanks for the discussion!
