Hey folks,
After many months I've finally finished my miter saw station. For the Charlotte shop crawl it was close to done but now-well take a look!

The cabinet is made from quartersawn red oak and stained with a custom wizard tint color followed by 3 coats of poly. Here's some close ups of the figure in the wood:

the drawer fronts are all bookmatched and the drawers all have handcut dovetails:

Here she is with a top view:

The miter saw out feed supports give me 2 ft to the right of the blade and 8 ft to the left-here she is in action with a 10ft long piece of 8/4 sapele:

Thanks all for looking- if interested I put some more work in progress pics in my gallery-Have a safe and happy Labor Day. -- Mike

Looks great! I save the oak for furniture for inside. Shop stuff for me is softwood or plywood. Still looks great.

Jim, if you saw his shop you would see that the cabinet fits right in. The place is beautiful, and so is the miter saw stand/cabinet - great work!

It's nice, but one of the handles is upside down. It just RUINS it! Ruins it I tell you! Plus, the color of the drawers isnt' Feng Shui with the floor.

Holy plugcutters Michael, that is AWESOME!! Although I'd cry if I got a ding or a scratch on one of those pretty drawers. Hand cut dovetails? Was the lumber harvested at midnight by 18 monks who took a vow of silence for 7 years? :)

It's going to be a joy having that much storage space. Jealous already.

Absolutely, great workmanship/craftsmanship.
I look at these pictures with total envy.
You should feel very proud of that project.
But your shop is just waaaaay too clean, but I guess that's the whole idea isn't it.
really like your drawers and the detail that you went through on your selection of grains.

All I can say is, "WOW!!!"

Your shop has better cabinets than my kitchen! :notworthy:
