For anyone that is thinking about trying their hand at pen turning and don't want to take a classs or try it without help from someone Penn State Industries http://www.pennstateind.com/ has a very good FREE DVD titled Hand-Crafted Pens - The Basics A beginner's Guide to Pen Turning on the Lathe. I was surfing their site Sunday night and ordered the DVD. It came today and I watched it. I think it is very good and the price is right and shipping is free.

They also included another free DVD titles Using the PSI duplicator on Your Lathe and a $10 coupon off on a $50 order.

Thanks for the heads-up Splinter! I tried to order the DVD but they still want my credit card info. The price is $0 and the shipping is $0. I don't understand why they want my info. I sent them an email asking why. I'll let you know what they say.
Thanks again,

Thanks for the tips everyone! PSI answered my email question. As others suggested you can: put N/A in for Credit Card info, select CC info already on file, or you can just send them an email by clicking on CONTACT US. Be sure to include your Name and Address in your request.

Mine is on the way!
Take care,

Received mine yesterday too and watch it. Interesting ... he turns it about 5 times faster than I do ... I must be going VERY slow! :BangHead:

I received my DVD a couple of days ago and watched it the other evening. My parents were in town and I decided to watch it. My wife's response was something like, ugh, why, can I shove a hot poker in my eye instead. By the time the DVD was done, my wife was talking of buying a lathe and making pens herself. I sure hope I get to slide down that slippery slope.
