Need Advice Franken-plane What is It?

I wanted to see if anyone out there could help me identify a plane I recently picked up at an estate sale. It’s a Stanley No. 4 1/2. Unfortunately I think it’s one that someone mixed parts from other “types” and created a Franken-plane.

Here’s what I have found:
The Body is the biggest mystery. Almost everything appears to be type 15 based on: MADE IN U.S.A. behind frog, BAILEY cast behind knob, without the Raised, broad, flat rib cast at toe and heel is probably a type 15.
However, it doesn’t have a tapped hole for the frog adjustment screw. From what I’ve read this feature was started in 1907. It was only stopped for a few years to save cost during WWII, or during the type 17 years. The problem is during those years the body had raised, broad, flat rib cast at toe and heel…this one doesn’t.
The other inconsistencies can be explained as they are in the removable parts, so I can see how they could be swapped out, but I can’t see how the body is a mis-match.

The other inconsistencies are as follows:
Key hole in lever cap is kidney shaped - started with type 16
Ogee shaped frog - started with type 16
Adjustment thumb wheel is too small.

It's most likely a correct type 17. All bets are off on those.

Hard to tell from the pics but that looks like a thick casting. If so, it should make a fantastic user.

I have a similar Stanley No. 3. The body is a type 11-12, but it is not tapped for a frog adjustment screw as it “should have been.” One I got it cleaned up, I found that it had been marked “damaged” (see photo). My guess is that it was rejected at the factory before being tapped for the adjustment screw, but someone thought it was good enough to use anyway. Maybe something similar happened with yours?
