Well here's my floating table finally finished (described in an earlier post).
http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/showthread.php?t=50846

The top and lower shelf are mahogany and the legs/aprons are walnut. The finish is padded shellac -a couple coats of garnet followed by blonde until I had enough build (not quite sure how many coats that takes). The final finish was rubbed w/ steel wool and dark paste wax to a nice satin sheen. Thanks for looking.

Thanks all!

I forgot to include my only wip photos -my high tech finishing station. 2 squeeze bottles -1 is blonde shellac (bulls eye seal coat), the other is ethanol (bekhol) and the ziploc bags have my pads -4"x4" square of cotton w/ a wad of wool yarn. The legs (bottom photo) are supported on a piece of mdf w/ nails driven through and the points filed down.

Great work Sam!

And it is like magic, there are only three legs in the picture - but the finished product has four! :eusa_thin
