After routing the edge of a table top, 3/4" thick, I found a crack. The table won't be getting heavy use. Is it better to use a bit of glue and clamp, or can I get by with a dab of wood filler?
Wood filler will be the quick and easy fix. Glue and clamp will leave less of a line when you finish the table top. If you go with glue, press it into the crack like you would press wood filler, then clamp it tight enough to cause squeeze out. The crack should almost disappear.
Here are the "after" pics. I used my smallest nipple on my glue bottle, then worked the glue in with my finger and clamped overnight. The second pics is the underside, as the split was not present on the topside of the top.
