First segmented bowl

This is my first segmented bowl. It is made from poplar and walnut

The bowl looks great, I also like the effect of the stripe in the square edge bowl in your album. I've barely had time to play with my lathe but your pictures are definitely inspiring.

Wow that looks great hopefully one day I will be able to do that. Can't wait to see more photos. I do quite a bit of work out in Cary, Apex, Durham area if you ever feel like teaching some folks to do that I would be interested in learning.

Thanks to all. I am working on some new turnings this time with exotic wood like holly, ebony, rose and blood woods. I will post at different stages of completion.

Nick, you've done some beautiful things. I too like the effect of the straight laminated band in the square edged bowl. You didn't go for something simple on your "first" bowl...you went straight to a knuckle-buster
Your segmented bowl is awesome, as is the hall table. Very fine work coming out of your shop :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
