First rocker

I'm curious about any recommendations you folks may have as to a most suitable style of rocker for first time chairmaking project. I have never built anything along these lines before, and would like a good-sized(like me!), all wooden rocker, no caned or upholstered seat.
I am considering using either cherry or ash(or both? Ash rockers, cherry chair?), but certainly any suggestions as to other materials are welcome.

If you have never done a rocker before or a chair with advanced joinery, it's not an easy project to fly solo. There are books out there on the subject and even kits but I would suggest signing up for one of Woodguy's classes and learning the techniques hands on. This thread here will give you a sense for this class and what we have accomplished through 5 classes.
