A while back I purchased a Porter Cable 7116 24" Dovetail Jig used from Steve Coles:5thanks: (and generously delivered to me by McRabbet/Rob:5thanks: & a training DVD sent to me by MLB3164/Marty:5thanks:). Unfortunately the hot weather, birth of my first child, and business have not allowed me to put it to good use ... until today! :eusa_danc

I'm "learning" how to make it work, but the video got me started today. Overall it's pretty simple, but I could see how this could become a full day event with the setup and tweaking to make it clean & tight.

If you have any tips and tricks, I'd love to hear them! :5help:

Nice looking DTs Jeremy.:icon_thum I am not familiar with the set up for the PC DT jig but you might want to see if you can adjust where your DTs start and stop (evenly spaced). Then again there may be no control over this based on the width of the piece you are cutting your DTs in. Again, nice job.

good job for your first go round. I haven't used that system yet. Only hand cut and the incra jig. Keep at it though you will have them spot on soon!

Hey Dorm,
Glad to know your getting your equipment up and running. Sorry to hear about the accident. I am in Iraq right now but when I get home I will be more than happy to come over and do some woodworking with you. When are in a post all you have to do is hit the blue "Post Reply" button that is above the "Quick Reply" And if you want to start a post you have to go into the "Forums" area and then pick a forum like power tools, hand tools, etc. and then use the "New Thread" button to start a new post that is your own. You should go into the "Who We Are" area and introduce yourself to everyone if you haven't. have a blessed day friend.
