Fein Turbo II and Dust Deputy

I have this setup under my mitre saw. I got lazy and let the 5 gallon drum under the Dust Deputy fill up and then the sawdust moved over to the Fein and the internal bag. I cleaned everything out and was going to order another dust bag but was wondering why a bag was needed. If I clean out the dust deputy correctly, nothing moved over to the Fein, correct?

The Dust Deputy will collect the larger pieces and some of the small dust particles but not all. Yes you need to bag.

You definitely want to maintain a cloth or paper filter in the Fein vac - for secondary protection if nothing else. There is available a "permanent" cloth filter that substitutes for the replaceable paper filters. Costs $60 or so.

Use the bag and HEPA filter.
I have the same, but use the ClearView small cyclone on it. Not much makes it into the bag, but it is all "fines"
