Experiments in Epoxy

A while ago I posted a thread asking questions on epoxy (how to, what kind, etc). Well, I got some epoxy and "made the things" with it!

I used some resin I found on Amazon, which I'm not sure is the "best" because I've only had experience with the one brand, but it wasn't expensive. First project was intended to be an entry table top, but my wife decided it was too small so maybe I'll just hang it as art. The second are the birds I mentioned. I used a scroll saw to cutout the wood centers, and filled with epoxy. I cut the birds out of Cherry and Walnut with a jigsaw.

Both are a WIP (work in progress) but I can add the finished products here when done :)

That's how we learn and get better at making awesome things. Keep at it and keep experimenting and you will be making something exceptionally awesome before you know it.

looking good so far! I'd be interested in seeing what the birds look like after they've been sanded and polished out! Please do share the pics! And thanks!
