End Grain Violin Cutting Board

Since starting my cutting board business last year I have received several orders for unique boards. However, this was the most enjoyable and unique one I have done yet. It is an end grain violin board. My client's wife is a music teacher and he wanted something special and just for her for Christmas. Once the feet are installed this one will be out the door and I should be caught up!!

After initial glue up


The board is cherry, the neck is walnut, and the strings are maple.

It looks very nice, but I must admit that I am baffled as to why someone needs a board to cut up violins on... Odd.
