I often run classified ads to give "stuff" away. Other NCWWs respond back to me via comments, PM or Email, I get a notification sent via email to my smart phone but it is very difficult to read the message and impossible to respond. It sure would make my life easier if I could just have all messages go directly to my real email, then I could respond in a timely manner. I do not see that option. Any help would be appreciated phil

Phil,

I agree with the headaches. Alas not something we can do.

At the top of an Ad, there is a link to "Email".

After you create an Ad, you could copy that URL and Paste it somewhere into the post asking people to use that link to contact you.

Example looks like this: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=2071

Hope that helps a bit.

To further "help", you could also set "Allow comments" and "Accept offers" to No

Then make reference to contacting you by email.

Hey Jim, there are some other VB sites that have the classifieds set up as a forum, is this not an option for us?
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; GTB6.6; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; MDDC; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; .NET4.0C)

Can't speak to what other sites are using, but we use an add on called VBClassifieds. It is a much richer ad tool than the forum based one offered by vbulletin.

Looked at the options, don't see anything that would turn on anything forum like for vbclassifieds.
