E-mail notifications for new postings???

Have y'all been getting them since the server switch? I have not, and as far as I can tell my ncww'er e-mail acct. is working right. Friday was the last time I received any e-mail for new posts in Gen. Ww'ing.

As a Mod of General Woodworking I get (or got) notifications via e-mail of new postings so I can read the contents. I do use it for a quick check of what is going on in that particular forum, but I generally read all posts on the site itself, so no, I can get by without it. But I just wonder what happened to it.

Dave -- I've been getting notices for new Posts/Threads in my two moderation assignments -- I do not use NCWWer mail -- I use my Bellsouth account, which did not change hands -- you might want to check with Papa Steve to see if the e-mail service change may have impacted those automatic notifications... My notifications was not working for a few days when there was an issue with RR but it seems to be working fine now.

I don't know if I got them initially, but now get them for the forums for which I am the moderator and I think any I reply to. I get the early morning summary of new posts as well - which I love.

I find the email notifications for my forums helpful especially when I am not on the site as often as I like. They help me know what is being posted, if someone needs a reply, a post needs to be redirected or worse case scenario the post needs to be moved to moderation. Alerts of new emails pop-up on my computer even when I am working in different programs providing I have the internet running in the background.

If I get a full time job the notifications will help me know where to read first!

Dave, I just realized that mail generated by this webserver assumes that email for ncwoodworker.net email address is on this server just does a delivery directly to this machine, rather than look where the email should go. This is just a default setting and I need to change it. But While I know now how to do it, I acn't quite yet. I am waiting for info from one of the tech specs.

This should be fixed shortly I will let you know. My bad, I forgot about this issue and the need to cahnge the setting. (It's been years, since I have worked at this low a level aon this machine.:roll:

Thanks Steve, I checked everything today at work. I am all good, I got the 100+ old messages that I hadn't received...wow! I got some reading to do:lol: :lol:
