Hi all,

I just wanted to share a reminder to please check out our Facebook group, linked in the Social Media tab above, as we are seeing very quick growth.
The group continues to have a lot of active engagement incouding: lots of discussions, questions, project sharing, requests for work to be done, and more.

If you get some time please check it out and feel free to join the fray!

Thanks Scott.
I am already a follower of this, but have to admit that FB format is a whole more difficult to scan and pick out 'threads' I want to comment on.
I guess both formats have their strengths, but for 'real info' this format is much more to my taste.

I do comment occasionally on FB posts, as I see opportunity.

I think it's great that NCWW is reaching out across multiple platforms. For those of us that won't use Facebook or others that think web forums are old-fashioned, it's good to include everyone. Wish there was a way to cross-pollinate rather than having to be a member of both.

Can we post items for sale in FB group? I got a planer and 3 sheets of plywood. Since I have not logged in here in over a month, I am now a new user and can not post in the for sale forum!! :D:D:D:D I am a slacker!!

I'm in the FB group and it's been really nice seeing the increased activity. Lots of good discussions and questions (and a lot of "where can I buy wood?" posts :-D ). I'm in several other woodworking-related groups, and the NCWW group is by far the most useful. It's a nice bridge for those on Facebook that wouldn't necessarily sign up for a forum.

You can post items for sales on FB, or even use the FB marketplace for access to a larger audience.

I'm not real proficient with Facebook but some of the groups I joined are always saying to not post prices. There are a few marketplace sections where pricing is allowed.

I find it hard to folllow the Facebook format too, I normally just catch the most recent posts and lots of times see the same post repeated, very annoying causing me to stop scrolling for more.

I didn’t even realize there was a FB group until recently. Just submitted my request to join.

An aside, I wish the “report” button was somewhere else, since I’m more used to the location of the “like” button on FB!

Don't do Facebook. My first account was hijacked by some Chinese kid and FB refused to recover it for me. Unless it is about child porn, they provide ZERO customer service, so I vote by not using them. Discussing company. Mere identify theft and fraud they don't care about.

Our You-Tube channel (NCWW) is also growing steadily. We get a new subscriber about 2-3 times a week.
OK now, wait just a second. Are you going to tell me that I have to join Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo, ..... and on and on just to keep up with NCWW?! WOW. :):D;)
Of course if we can promote a spirit of civility and helpful advice across all these platforms - well good on NCWW. I know I have limited bandwidth to do so, but together we can make a difference. Just this morning I read a FB post (NCWWer group) from someone thanking the group for helpful advice.

Most definitely! There are almost daily requests for used equipment.

Give it another 24 hours - as a returning user you're marked as new for 24 hours - you'll get your regular status back after the update runs overnight.

I am also not a Facebook user. I would hope that this forum remains the focus of our community and that we do not dilute content here by having users move to the Facebook world.
Rob, there is no effort to dilute the main group with FB. We are attracting a different group of woodworkers and suppliers that find FB a better match to their needs. The group is younger and more female and many are thirsty for knowledge and guidance. Is this a result of the influence of Instagram, Etsy, HGTV shows, and will pass? I don't know but for now, we are keeping woodworking in all its forms alive and well.
