Two old Disston panel saws... One has spanner nuts so 1870's vintage. The other is not far behind. Both plates are straight with no bends or kinks and both nibs are intact. Also a Craftsman branded Millers Falls eggbeater with enclosed gears and a Stanley #51 spokeshave. All for less than $30.

Could this be moved to the correct "for sale" thread?

Just restored my little Stanley 51. I was able to buy a new blade for it. Handy little tool.

Correct. I thought that was evident by now but just to make sure everyone knows....I don't/won't sell hand tools. Ever.

Now I'll give one away in a heartbeat..... just can't sell one.

i read this as he found these for under $30, not selling (yet)

I went out this weekend looking for a Disston no. 4 for my Stanley no 150 miter box and had no luck but a Stanley no. 7 hand plane and a Stanley No 945 bit brace did follow me home. Not the best prices but they looked so sad laying there I had to bring them home :p

Good luck...any Disston backsaw is hard to find. I picked up this #4 in Morehead City a while back.

I would really like something 18 x 4, but I am open to variables around that and I'm not super brand specific.

your depth is REALLY important, if it isn't deep enough it will not reach from the miter box holders to the surface of the box! (PLEASE don't ask how I found that out!);)

Let me check tonight and get back to you...

You can use almost any saw with the 150 mitre box.... even a regular hand saw. It's a nice tool.

Thanks Chris!
I forgot about those - I was thinking of a "regular miter box where the back runs in a cut-out or groove in the blade holders...
