Each saw blade manufacturer has their own idea of what is best in terms of tooth spacing, and geometry. Going through my saw blade collection, I realized I had four (4) blades specifically for cutting melamine. Two are triple chip blades, and the other two are HAB (high alternate bevel.) I don't remember any one being better or worse than the other when cutting melamine. All yield good results, despite being made different. I remember several years back doing a comparison of blades ripping off 1/4" X 3/4" maple edge strips. The blades were: Forrest WWII, Freud Glue Line Rip, Freud LU 84 50 tooth combo, and Oldham (US Saw) 40 tooth blade, cloned after Forrest WWII. All blades yielded good cuts, but the LU 84 yielded the best (very little burning) and easiest cuts. I would have expected the Glue Line Rip to do so, but it came second. Different ideas with similar results.
