I am posting this here first before going to FBMP.

I’ve just finished a full functional restoration of a 1963 Delta Rockwell 28-380 wood and metal cutting bandsaw. This saw came from NCSU’s engineering department, and when I got it, it needed a fill refresh.

An original delta/craftsman 1/2 hp motor was added. New lower step pulley for slow speeds, new wheel bearings, shims, tires, and table leveler, from Iturra Design, table was polished and waxed, and the gearbox was fully rebuilt and resealed. I elected not to paint this saw as I thought the NCSU badging and patina told a pretty cool story.

The saw is capable of cutting wood and metal via a clutched pulley system. I’ve tuned the machine and it runs great. Selling because I have another saw already and this was just a fun project.

Happy to show you around the saw or provide a video walk around. I didn’t post it as it’s a few minutes long.

I’d like to get $650 for the saw.

I can assist with transportation and highly recommend disassembly before transport. Pickup in Durham. If you’re close to the triangle and need assistance, I can help deliver/setup the saw.

Great restore! Do you have pics of the lower guides?

Here are images of the guides. These are solid.

I’m lowering the price to $600 obo. I need to make space in the shop as I have another saw in line for a complete restoration.
