Well it is actually gonna happen. My buddy called and told me that he will be bring the wood to me this weekend. See this thread for more details:
http://www.ncwoodworker.net/forums/sell.wood/1992-potential.wood.deal.part.2.a.html
I won't know until it all arrives exactly what I have, but I know he is loading up all the Walnut he has and some thick stock 10/4-12/4 of Walnut and Red Oak. Plus a lot of turning blanks. If this goes well I will be able to get much more and some more unusual stuff like burl and crotch.
I still have the list that I compiled of who want some and y'all will get first dibs, and then the rest will go to whom ever wants it. He told me that it is all at about 15% MC, so it will need to be stored in your shop for a little while to balance out to a controlled environment.
Stay tuned to this station for pics and updates :-D

Dave,

Since I was one of the late ones... I'll be really interested if you have 'leftovers'. I will be in Texas for all of next week and the following weekend may be a bit busy (my daughter is getting married)... but another daughter has a furniture request in the queue and a small amount of walnut would terrific. If you don't have the leftovers, I'll just hope that you will be able to pull this off again.

Peace,
Ray

The wood is coming in tomorrow, about 700 BF of Red Oak and Walnut (approx 1/2 & 1/2). I will have several QS R. Oak beams (12/4) that will be great for re-saw work or fireplace mantles and some thick Walnut too. The wood wil be stored in one of my "barns" at my house in Clayton (N. Johnston Co. 40/42 area). All that want some after I get to post some pics can come by and pick what they want. It's gonna be a wood fest:eusa_danc

I'd love to pick some up as well, but I'm in Charlotte and have to way to get out this weekend. I'll keep my eyes on this thread to see what you end up having left and maybe I can figure out a way to pick some up.

OR if someone from Charlotte is making a trip, maybe I can combine efforts with one of them.
