The legend (One that inspires legends or achieves legendary fame) of DaveO goes far and wide doesn't it?

I saw that brought back up again. Pretty funny. I like rfesser's comments as someone who probably hasn't made something like that :roll:
Make my ego feel good that someone is impressed with my work.
Thanks for noticing, what the heck are you doing on the "other" board :eusa_snoo

I think so

I learned something new - I didn't know Dave likes cooking. But makes sense... cutting board - cooking, yep I can draw a parallel now.

I gave up posting on WN a long time ago..unless it's necessary to prevent stupidity or reply to a direct question. Still a lot of good information to be gleaned, but just not a friendly environment to exchange like there is here :icon_thum

Yeah, I would say he almost undoubtably hasn't made one. I have done a couple of the segmentation projects where you cut pieces , stain them differently and put them back together like this:
horsehead.jpg

I used a scroll saw and a thin blade (OK, a #7, which is not that thin compared to other scroll saw blades, but compared to a BS blade it is) and even with that small a kerf and arcs that short, there was a little tiny bit of play in them. A little sanding and gluing to a backboard and it is fine. There's no way I could have gotten away with that on a cutting board, especially with longer arcs.

I certainly agree about the unfriendly nature of that board. As to what was I doing on that other board, all I can say is....."Forgive me father for I have sinned". :slap: :slap:

Rfesser is also a member here . . . sorta. Robert (Bob) is a knowledgeable woodworker from around Greensboro IIRC, but never got interested in NCWWer. His last post was 05-13-2006.

For those that might not know, Steve, DaveO, Gator, myself and others were posting on Woodnet when Steve decided to fire up NCWWer . . . apparently a pretty good idea :widea:

Roger, I was one who posted on Woodnet and remember the post Steve made asking if we thought a website dedicated to just NC woodworkers was a good idea. I said that I thought we didn't need another one. It's not everyday that one admits to being "not too bright" but I have to admit I was oh so wrong. This is a great site (I don't have to tell everyone that) and Steve deserves a big hand for all the hard work and expense he has expended on the site. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Also guilty as charged, I am so glad that WN prunes threads after a year, that one was kinda embrassing for several of us :embaresse and then there was the BBQ thing :roll:
