SWMBO requested a shower stool about a year and a half ago. Well, it finally made it's way to the top of the to do list.

@JackLeg hooked me up with some cypress (https://ncwoodworker.net/forums/index.php?threads/good-visit.73059/) a year and a half ago! (Where does the time go??) Reg - I just found that thread - apologies for missing it when you posted it!

Found a design HERE

Got started w/ the cypress...

Little sanding and a dry fit...

Didn't fully engage the old brain box when cutting the dadoes for the bottom shelf and cut them too deep...thus the gap seen on the bottom front left corner...

Spent my shop time last night trimming up the stringers to get it all to fit. Hoping to start on glue up tonight.

Currently debating on a finish. The article suggests tung oil, a buddy mentioned teak, I was thinking BLO or nothing and a coworker suggested a Danish Soap finish. Any suggestions?

Thanks for checking out the build!

Thanks guys! Was able to get the legs sanded last night and the bottom shelf glued up (forgot pictures ).

Hoping to get finish on it this weekend.

Think I'll give the Waterlox a try!

Cypress, I like it and the design. Also glad to see I’m not the only person who uses the table saw as a bench!
