Cutting boards - mostly just showing off

I had a question about the cutting board in my profile picture. So I decided to indulge in a bit of showing off.

The piano key design was for my mom, who plays piano. The artist palette design was for my wife’s mother, who is a painter. Note that there is no stain on any of the colors in the palette; it’s all different colored woods.

I have seen cutting boards with a wavy division between two halves but I've never seen one that was a stop cut on both ends. Is that inlay or does it go all the way through? That can't have been easy to fit. (Looking at your 3rd pic.)

It goes all the way though. I cheated and cut both the slot and the insert on a CNC router.
