Here is a picture of a Maple, Cherry, and Walnut Cutting Board I just finished. It is 12 inhes wide and 20 inches long. I used walnut oil and bee's wax to finish it.

Great looking blend of woods you got there!:eusa_clap I am sure that the recipient will cherish it for a long while! (Sorry...I just assumed it was for someone other than yourself.:slap: )

Another great job. I like the wood combination also. Well, lets see! We could trim the steak on the cutting board before using the salt & pepper mills (starting to see a pattern here!).

No feet on it at this time. Do you think that would add to it's looks? What type of feet do most use rubber or wood?

Rolly, I like to use the clear rubber bumper for computer or stereo eqiup. They are about 3/8" thick 1/2" square and I scrape off the original adhesive and use thick CA glue to set them on the board. They give a nice, non-slip surface, but also allow you to trim them down if your board doesn't sit totally flush with the counter DAMHIKT :eusa_doh:
Beautiful board BTW, love the color of the Walnut :icon_thum

I like the cutting board...nice job!

My vote is for no feet...then you can cut on one side that is used for cutting and the other side used for show when it's sitting out/hanging on a wall/etc...

Thanks, I like chopping up deers myself. They make for some mighty fine eating. Good idea to chop on one side and show the other.

That's a beautiful board with some nice contrast of color and grain. It's so pretty I bet she isn't gonna want to cut anything on it!

I was just woundering about what type of glue you use to make a cuting board... Does it have to be food safe or do you just use some type of waterproof glue and sand it down. Also do you put a finish on it???? If so what type of finish. I've been wanting to make one just dont know the answers to these questions.

I used titebond III and finished it with walnut oil and beeswax. The walnut oil will penetrate and harden and the beeswax helps to make it water repellent.
