Here is a picture of a Maple, Cherry, and Walnut Cutting Board I just finished. It is 12 inhes wide and 20 inches long. I used walnut oil and bee's wax to finish it.
Great looking blend of woods you got there!:eusa_clap I am sure that the recipient will cherish it for a long while! (Sorry...I just assumed it was for someone other than yourself.:slap: )
Another great job. I like the wood combination also. Well, lets see! We could trim the steak on the cutting board before using the salt & pepper mills (starting to see a pattern here!).
Rolly, I like to use the clear rubber bumper for computer or stereo eqiup. They are about 3/8" thick 1/2" square and I scrape off the original adhesive and use thick CA glue to set them on the board. They give a nice, non-slip surface, but also allow you to trim them down if your board doesn't sit totally flush with the counter DAMHIKT :eusa_doh:
Beautiful board BTW, love the color of the Walnut :icon_thum

My vote is for no feet...then you can cut on one side that is used for cutting and the other side used for show when it's sitting out/hanging on a wall/etc...
I was just woundering about what type of glue you use to make a cuting board... Does it have to be food safe or do you just use some type of waterproof glue and sand it down. Also do you put a finish on it???? If so what type of finish. I've been wanting to make one just dont know the answers to these questions.
I used titebond III and finished it with walnut oil and beeswax. The walnut oil will penetrate and harden and the beeswax helps to make it water repellent.
