Hi Folks,
I am finally getting around to making my first sled! I’ve got all the parts ready including my slick new Katz-Moses stop- woo hoo. I was getting ready to assemble and got stuck on where to put the blade? How much room should I keep on either side of the blade - any guidance? My sled is roughly 3X2 - around 21” of cut capacity with the fences installed. Thanks as always! Happy Saturday.

I have 2 miter slots on my table saw and there's an oak runner in each slot. Tommy Mac built his with the sled to the right of the blade and a single runner. Marc Spagnuolo built his with 2 runners so there is space to the left and the right of the blade.

Since my shop is in a barn, I made the sled the same size as the table for rust prevention and hence put the blade in the center.
