In the market for a 6" jointer and saw this on craigslist. Anyone have experience? They have it listed at $295 If I get it I'll want to put in a shelix head $358, brigning it to around $600. Worth it?

Have you looked at any of the new machines like Grizzly that already have the cutter head installed? Are they close enough in price to work.

I'm not familiar with the Craftsman joiner. I have a 6" Rigid and I'm happy with it. It seems to have a pretty good track record and they come up for sale from time to time as well.

David, this might be another option. This Delta will be in an auction this Saturday in Winston-Salem. No idea what it will go for. Could be more or less than the one you're looking at.

Some nice stuff but unless things have changed many times woodworking tools will go for more than new at auctions like this. There's some nice looking hand tools there. I hope it's inside.
