In my journey I saw a lot about hand planes being used to build fine furniture, but never was able to get one properly tuned so I could learn how to use it. Fast forward, and now I've become a collector of Stanley planes and buy beat up stanleys, restore them, and sell with reasonable prices to get them in the hands of woodworkers like yourselves.
