WD-40, steel wool and elbow grease works well. Also those abrasive pads from Scotch-brite can be mounted on a ROS if you're lacking in elbow grease. Also there are commercial products like Boeshield, and TopSaver that clean and help to prevent rust. I have heard that Formula 409 works well also.

Lorraine, once you get it all nice and shiny again don't forget to put a little Johnson's paste wax on it to help protect it. We have a member here (Mshel) that using nothing but a chalkboard eraser and talcum powder to keep his machines in top shape. I saw his PM 66 TS recently and it looks like it did when it came straight out of the factory.
Are you saying put paste wax on the blade? I would also put the wax on the surface of the tablesaw and the jointer? I don't see the caulkboard eraser or the talcum powder in my minds eye. Where would that go to protect my machines?
Oh, you were talking more about cleaning the blades and not so much about the CI tablesaw table. Well, 409 or Simple Green or WD-40 are great for that, but I wouldn't recommend waxing your blades. Keep that for the table surface. Sorry for the confusion :slap:
