Chip Carving

I have been reading a little about chip carving and wonder if anyone out there is involved with this type of carving? any guideance on where to look for info besides youtube videos.

I did a couple of pieces in the past but nothing recent. Check out this site htpp//www.carvingpatterns.com/ for a lot of patterns and tutorials. She has a wealth of info.

Try Fox Chapel Publishing, I love their books, most projects are easy to follow with great pictures and instructions. I've mostly used the Song Bird and Decoy books. Jim

it is a good book. It gives you some good tips and shows how to hold the knives and gives you techniques. I semi enjoyed it the first couple of times. I am going to give it another go once I finish up some other projects.

I tried my hand at a couple of pieces. It's not really that tough. I went mainly off an episode of the Woodright's Shop that I saw where he had a guest come on the show and demonstrate. I thought you could get the episodes online somewhere but I'm having trouble finding it.
