I finished the last touches for the master bedroom, cherry candle sconces and a small mirror. Also included a shot of the chest of drawers, dresser and bed, all in cherry, Danish oil/natural finish.

Chuck,

Simply beautiful. The scounces turned out great. So how did you finally attach the parts?

Chuck, beautiful work.:icon_thum The sconces and mirror turned out nicely and match the rest of your furniture pieces very well. Great looking work.

Impressive Chuck. Did you build the entire bedroom suit?

I have built the pieces over the past 2 years. The picture doesn't show it but you can see the older pieces are darker. I love the patina that cherry takes on with time.

I used a combination of advice from all of the experts here. Dadoed for the bottom and made sure to get a long-long grain glue-up. Once I had the dadoes it helped align everything so that the pieces clamped nice and square in my k-bodies.

Now that's my style. Where did you get the plans for the furniture? I've like to take on that project on of these days!

GREAT JOB!

GREAT JOB!

I bought the plans for the 7 drawer dresser online. It was the first major piece I had made in this style and I wanted the dimensions and the basic joinery spelled out. After that, I found pictures of the nightstand, chest of drawers and scaled with a ruler, using the same basic outline as the dresser.

I did buy a bed plan. I had a lot invested in stock and didn't trust myself to wing it (I don't have any design software). I made subtle changes to match the other pieces then designed a mirror for the dresser with a top to match the bed style.

Here's a shot showing the dresser from the front.

Next big project is either a DR table or a bed for my son...the CFO hasn't made a call yet. She's had me tied up on misc projects lately but has hinted that I need to step it up a notch!

Chuck,

That room has a very classy look indeed!!!!!!!!!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap You definitely did a splendid Job with the furniture as well as the finish!

Your LOYL must be very, very proud! (If I could only pull off that kind of craftsmanship, I would bet that my wife would hand me a bunch of blank checks with "Tools" written all over them! )

Definite heirlooms you have there - for sure!

Nice work! I have a long list of furniture to start working on for my home as well. Maybe one of these days I will get around to building some of it.
