Anyone on here do this? I have a large stump and was thinking about commissioning a carving of a horse head. Found a local guy on Facebook Marketplace, but thougjt I'd check here too.

Log is pine, 3.5' tall, 2.5' at base and 2' at top. Been under cover and sitting on 2x4s, but recently noticed the 2x4 seems to be wicking moisture up, so some of base may not be good. Wont know till I turn it over.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, or knows someone that could... let me know.

David, there are usually some guys doing this at the State Fair each year. Maybe you could contact the State Fair people and see if they could come up with some possibilities.

I have, you will need a carving chain bar and blade. My dad used to do this from time to time. Look up Bailey's Chain saw supplies. They have 2 offices one in California and the other in North Carolina. I get most my chain saw supplies from them. It is a pro supply store, but they carry everything.
