Cedar "log"

I need a tiny cedar "log" about 5" diameter and 6" long from which to turn a finial for a coat rack. I can't believe I'm asking for this having heated with wood for 50+ years and ran my sawmill for 21 of them but I am at Croasdaile retirement in Durham now and have given up those activities. If anyone in Durham or very close by has such from their firewood stack it would be ideal. I do need it to be dry so cracking will not be a problem after turning on a lathe. Thanks for considering.

I have a log that is 4" at the fat end and tapers. It's about 8 or 9 ft long and is straight. It was a small tree in my yard that I cut down several years ago. Probably not much red wood in it, mostly sap wood. You can have it if it will work but I'm an hour from Durham.

Bob, I believe I have a piece about the size you need dried in my shop. Let me know if you want it!
