I was in the HD on Walnut St in Cary about noon today and saw a clearance table with a Ridgid palm router (laminate trimmer) for $50. No box or wrenches in sight, and I'm not even sure I saw a collet on there. Was marked as "used/returned/clearance", but seemed in good shape. If it a full size router I'd woudl have bought it in a heartbeat.

I picked up two things though:
- a another corded drill (now 4 or 5 - what can I say, some people like routers, I end up with drills!) - a clearance $20 Ryobi,
- as well as a damaged B&D jig saw. We'll see if that that one works out. The shoe is bent, but if I can straighten that, it will be a much better tool than my 25 year old yard-sale Craftsman jig saw. That has a cracked body (dropped once too often) and held togather with hose clamps (no more tilting the blade - not that I ever did anyways). A jig saw (saber saw) is a seldom used tool for me, maybe because I never had a decent one. Hand saws or bandsaws always seem to be a decent alternative generally. We'll see about this one.

I bought one of those small routers at Ridgid's tool clearance store for about $60. It is a factory re-con . This store handles all of Ridgid's re-conditioned tools. It is in the Tanger outlet mall at Mebane.
