I get an error message when trying to upload a photo. The diagnostic report from the bottom of the page is included below. My apologies if this is a known issue related to the recent outage and I've missed the news :)

99.99999% of the time, updating your Flash Plugin resolves this issue.

There have been a flurry of updates from Adobe lately over some security issues, so its a good a time as any to update.

Let us know if that works/doesn't :)

My flash plugin was already pretty new, as this is a new-ish machine. But I re-installed the latest from their site anyway. Still broken.

BTW, I also restarted Firefox...and even Windows. No joy :(

Just for kicks, I even tried logging out of NCWWer and logging back in fresh, something I'm not sure I've done since I jointed the site. Took me a while to find my password :) I still get the same error.

Ruling out the easy stuff, what is the file size on the pic you are uploading?

A few more things to try:

- Remove blank spaces from file name (long shot)
- Turn off your virus scanner and test. I found some reports that a few virus scanners were triggering this error.

Don't forget to turn it back on!

I tested a bunch of uploads, its working on our end. If its any consolation, a 2038 error is a generic Flash error for "gee, something happened".

The image is 1.2MB. There are no spaces in the filename. I tried disabling my virus scanner...still no joy.

My last upload was Sep 6. I've probably updated FF since then. I'm trying to think of anything else that has changed on my end since then...

Ok, how's this for strange?

I reluctantly fired up IE to give it a try there. I don't have flash installed in IE, so I used the regular upload. Guess what? It worked! So I switched back to FF (which was still running since my previous failed upload attempt)...and now it works there, too! (with flash upload).

My conclusion is that it was a problem at the server -- something with my session was corrupted and somehow logging in from IE reset my session in a way that logging in/out with Firefox did not. This is obviously only a guess.

I just uploaded the original 4 pictures that produced the original failure, so you can close this thread!

Thanks,
Chris
