C-table project

It has been a while since I posted project but I’m glad to have something to share again:

This Christmas I designed and built a c-table for a friend. I had a great piece of jatoba that was given to me probably a decade ago that worked perfectly.
Here is a picture of the final table in its intended use:

The bottom is about an inch a en a half thick for weight. The top is planed down to 3/4 or so.

The two pieces are held together with 5 turned maple posts. The posts are fixed with wedged tenons.

Unfortunately due to COVID I have not been able to gift the table yet but I am very happy with how it turned out. Thanks for looking!

That is pretty cool! I’m thinking of making another for myself and as was wondering how a dovetailed corner would hold up. I really don’t want the top to be thick or have thick supporting structure. It looks like yours is out if 4/4 stock?

Great to see your work again Salem. I had been wondering if you were still in the area. The table looks great!

It is a simple rule joint. It was easier than I thought it would be.
The stock is 4/4.
Joe, that is an amazing table.

Nice to see you still active even after moving! Floyd is a really cool community. I used to have family there. Lots of woodworkers there too! If you go to The Natural Woodworking Company and the owner Swede is there tell him I sent you :)
