We decided to start using this swinging door rather than leaving it open against the wall. Thus, push panels were needed. Homer’s had solid brass 3-1/2 x 15 panels for $10.97 each delivered next day free.

I've been impressed with HD's delivery service. Doesn't matter how big or small, if it's available in the store you can get it often same day.

With cross-head screws, I have tried clocking at “x” but preferred the “+” position.
For Robertson screws, I prefer square clocking over diamond position.

What kind of hinges do you use for your swinging door? I asume it swings in both directions. Is that correct?

It is 1965 vintage from the original build. No hinges. Simple pivot at the top and a fixed floor plate with a spring loaded mechanism that centers the door when closed.
