Between the studs....

Looking for ideas.

I have an open stud wall shop, and I've been playing with various methods to use the space between each stud.

I don't want peg board, just a person preference.

My last attempt was to make a "ladder" with the rungs being french cleats. Worked ok, but its just a lot of fussing to scribe things to fit between the studs.

Anyone have any ideas?

I don't want to buy stud buddies, as thats too easy.

Insulation? Paah-leese.

My shop is too small for such luxuries.

Also, ~1000 watts of halogen lights pretty much make me feel like a burger under a heat lamp.....

1000 of halogen heat may feel "hot", but just wait until the temps get in the upper 90's! INSULATE!
