Need recommendations for the best replacement blade available for a compound sliding miter saw? Only cutting wood as of now.

About a year ago I replaced the stock blade on my CMS with a Freud 96 tooth Diablo blade (Correction...that s/b 80 tooth blade) and it has been great. Price was pretty good too. Around $60 I think.

Not sure if this blade would be suitable on a slider though. (-5 degree hook)

About anything with a high tooth count should give satisfactory results. 60-80T for a 10" blade and 72-96T on 12" blade. -5 degree hook angle is probably best from a kickback stand point.

Best Blade without reservations is this LU85R012 96 tooth Freud (also available in 10 inch):

Based on personal experience: Freud LU80something, Forrest Chopmaster or Leitz 80-tooth something.

These days, I don't think you can go wrong with a Tier 1 maker's purpose built CMS blade. That is to say any of Freud/Forrest/CMT/Amana/Tenryu CMS blades.
