Bench upgrades....

Nice upgrade Dave. What kind of wood did you use for the side bands? How thick it your top now?

I would like to rework my mobile work bench.....make it smaller to gain some floor space and maybe add a wood vise....but just have not taken the plunge yet.

Thanks, the top is 2½" thick at the edges and only 1" thick in the center but it is supported on a framework of tubafours. The apron is White Oak that I picked up at Habitat a while back, 1 1/8" thick 3¼" tall.
