Ask the NCWW: Vertical Ladder Rung Spacing?

I'm about to build a twin mattress loft bed for my 10 year old daughter. (Tweens need more room!) Here's a Sketchup. (It's lagged into the walls on two sides at the headboard and along the right hand rail.) It will be built of SYP, stained white to match the "White Stain" Ikea furniture (desk and dresser) she already has.

The current ladder rung spacing is 10". (8.5 inches of space with a 1.5" rung.) I think this will be ok but before I mess this up, I wanted a reality double-check with y'all.

Our ladder has 10 1/2 half between the steps

Looking at your sketch and measurements, the 10" spacing appears quite adequate Dave. Nice project, I'm sure your twins will love it!
